About Impeder Rod
Impeder Rod is used in the high frequency induction welding of steel tubes as well as pipes to concentrate magnetic flux. The principal role of the impeder is to raise the resistance of the current route around the inner circumference of the tube, directing more of the energy available into the weld vee. Impeders also concentrate the magnetic flux produced by current in the work coil, allowing more energy to be induced into the tube.
